PSA testing guidance

With recent news, it’s natural for men to think more about their health. However, if you’re under 50, the NHS guidelines suggest that a PSA blood test is generally not needed unless you’re at higher risk, such as having a family history of prostate cancer. For men over 50, the test can be a helpful tool, but it’s important to discuss it with your GP first to understand the pros and cons.

Most raised PSA levels don’t mean cancer, and your GP is the best person to guide you on this.
