Test results

Getting your test results

If your test results show that you need more tests or treatment, we will contact you.

Once a doctor has reviewed your test results, you can view them:

  • in your NHS account
  • in your Patient Access Account
  • Please telephone for any results after 15:00 Monday to Friday when the doctors have seen the test results for that day. You will also find that the telephone lines are less busy at that time.

Non-urgent advice: If you want to talk to someone about your results

Fill out our an eConsult. If your test was arranged by the hospital, (i.e an MRI scan), you should contact the hospital for your results as your consultant will need to advise what (if any) follow up treatment is required.

If you are having trouble getting through to the hospital, you can contact the patient liaison service PALS on 01273 664511 or 01444 448678

Results Waiting Time

  • Most blood test results are available within 72 hours although some may take a little longer. X-ray results generally take two to three weeks
